About the Founder

Trena has been choreographing her own dances since a very early age. It all started in the 2nd grade when she choreographed her very own dance and lip-sing performance to "Walking After Midnight", by Patsy Kline, for a talent day in class. Her passion for choreographing and love of dance continued into her teen years and beyond.

While attending further education in Ottawa in 2001, Trena had an opportunity to train in Ballroom and Latin dance at the Fred Astaire Studio and then to teach the same. She returned to Nova Scotia in 2002 and continued further training and teaching with her current dance partner, Michel Dubé, where they teach Ballroom, Latin and Swing dancing in locations in down town Halifax, in addition to classes in her own studio in Clayton Park.

While watching an episode on the Oprah Show that Oprah referred to as "Releasing Your Inner Sexpot", there was an ultra conservative lady who was transformed into a pole goddess by actress Sheila Kelley. After some research, Trena attended extensive teacher training in Los Angeles at Sheila Kelley's studio. Trena also took training in British Columbia and Ontario at other studios. After seeing all the styles out there, Trena put together a program of her own to offer to her students. Trena continues to choreograph additional dance and fitness programs for women to help them become stronger, more confident and to feel comfortable within their own bodies.

Trena has been showcased on TV programs such as Live at Five, Breakfast Television, Eastlink Television and has appeared in articles in the Chronicle Herald, the Clayton Park News and The Daily News. You can hear her radio ad daily on Z103.5
